Is there a surveyor out there?
Within the local area there is a potential problem with a retaining wall which we believe to be unsafe. We have had the relevant authority examine the structure and they regard it as being stable for the moment and therefore not requiring any remedial action. We however, remain concerned but we cannot challenge this decision without an expert opinion to back such a challenge. We are therefore making this appeal to any professionally qualified surveyor living within the association area who would be prepared to render a professional opinion on this issue. Sadly there will be no fee involved, we are always strapped for cash, be you would have the gratitude of a number of worried residents

Annual General Meeting
Our first AGM was held on 22nd October at Mills Hill School. Regrettably the attendance was poor, however our first year was reviewed and it was agreed that it had been solid start following the associations formation.
We currently have funds of a liitle over £6000 to continue activies and a number of grant applications in the pipeline. All the officers of the association were re-elected as were the commitee with the additon of Janet McLaren as a new member.
A full copy of the minutes of the meeting can be obtained on request by e-mailing 'minutes' to firwoodresidents_ntlworld.com
Community Crime Fighters Programme
The Crime Fighters Programme is aimed at local residents working to support the Neighbourhood Police Team. FADRA has three trained members which has strengthened links with the Police to help support a safer environment for all our residents. However, continued progress can only be ensured with co-operation and support from residents.
